KEVIN DOLAN:

After graduating in Fine Art from Reading University in 1985, I worked at The Museum of Modern Art in Oxford as Gallery Manager, part time whilst renting studios and continuing to paint.

Having exhibited and sold work for several years, and following a stint traveling around the USA, I got more interested in film and video and, enrolled into a Post-graduate film studies course with Oxford University in 1995. Around the same time I helped to run Oxford Film and Video Makers experimental filmmakers group and exhibited in local film showcases. In 1997 I made my first short film “Home” funded by Southern Arts. My second short film “Archive” was developed as part of Swindon Media Arts ‘First Cuts’ Scheme in 1998-1999. Following stints in electronic publishing and as an assistant officer at the Arts Council (1999-200), I joined the New Producers Alliance, as Events Manager.

After much coming and going i completed my second short ‘Archive” in April 2002. It went on to a number of screenings and festival appearances including Raindance and Kino International Film Festivals 2002. It was also selected by the British Council to be sent to festivals abroad and was featured in the best of British section of the Seoul Internaltional Digital Film Festival in 2004.

I joined Film London in 2005 and over the past year i have completed one short (RM159) which was a finalist in the Routemaster Film Challenge (February 2006). I have also completed editing on a short documentary: Bryron Rainbows 1945- which was selected as one of the opening night films for the Byron Bay International Film Festival 2007.

I am currently working on another documentary, charting the story of Bermondsey Antiques Market.
